Effective July 12, 2026 · Version 2026-07-12
This Privacy Policy explains how Ouro ("Ouro," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Ouro personal-finance application and related services (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Ouro is built around a simple principle: your financial data is yours. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Information you provide. When you set up your household you give us basic profile details such as your name and date of birth, and you sign in with your email address. As you use Ouro, you add or import financial information — for example account names and balances, transactions, investment holdings, cost basis, budgets, salaries, and cryptocurrency wallet addresses. This is the data the Service exists to organize for you.
Records of your consent. When you accept these documents, we record which versions you accepted and when, along with limited technical details (such as your IP address and browser user-agent) as proof of consent.
Technical and usage information. Like most web services, we automatically collect limited technical data — such as device and browser type, IP address, and how you interact with the Service — to keep it secure and working correctly.
We use your information to:
We do not use your financial data to make decisions about you on behalf of third parties, and we do not sell it.
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. Each household's data is isolated from every other household's, and access is restricted through authentication and least-privilege controls. We use encryption in transit and at rest and follow reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We share information only in limited circumstances:
We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Consent records are retained as an audit trail. When you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we remove it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with the law.
You can:
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights. To exercise any of these, use the tools in the Service or contact us at the address below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Ouro uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as your theme. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and handled there, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Each version is dated, and the current version is always available in the Service. If we make a material change, we will ask you to review and accept the updated Policy before you continue using the Service.
